Get Involved in Health & Social Care Service Planning
If you use local Health or Social Care services in Greater Nottingham or if you are a carer for someone who does, you can help change the way services are planned and developed.
You can make a difference!
By getting involved and giving your point of view, you can help service planners make sure they are meeting the needs of the public.
How it all works:
Health & social care service planners are required to consult with the people who use their services. This is so that services can be improved to better meet people's needs. In the NHS, this process is called Patient & Public Involvement in Health (PPIH). Local authorities and other service planning bodies are also required to consult the public about how services are developed. This is often referred to as service-user & carer involvement.
The Partnership Development Team help to gain the views of service-users, carers and voluntary organisations. We then feed these views back to the PCTs and other organisations, who must take the views on board and use them in their planning decisions.
We work with vulnerable adults from the following 6 areas:
- HIV & AIDS
- Learning Disability
- Mental Health
- Older People
- Physical & Sensory Impairment
- Substance Misuse
We work within the Greater Nottingham area. The area we cover is shown on the map below:
