Learning Disability Carers' Forum members in meeting

We run a Carers' Forum for parents of adults with learning disabilities to get involved and share their views about services.

The forum is a recognised channel of communication between parents and carers of adults with learning disabilities and service planners in the NHS and local authorities.

Issues raised at meetings are shared with service planners, local projects and services including Community Learning Disability Teams. This means everyone knows what carers think of services in Nottingham.

As the forum has a formal consultation role, representatives from service planners and providers often attend meetings to discuss current issues. They must first gain permission from the carers to attend.

The forum is open to all parents/family carers of adults with a learning disability resident in Nottingham City, Broxtowe & Hucknall, Gedling & Rushcliffe.

Joint meetings with the North Notts. Carers' Forum take place occasionally in order to share ideas and concerns and review recent progress.

Expenses are reimbursed and refreshments are available at the meetings.

If you would like to join the forum, please contact us.
