Ann Craft Trust

The Ann Craft Trust is a UK based organisation working with staff in the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors to protect people with learning disabilities who may be at risk from abuse. They also provide advice and information to parents and carers who may have concerns about someone that they are supporting.

British Institute of Learning Disabilities

The British Institute of Learning Disabilities is working to improve the lives of people in the UK with a learning disability.

Changing Places

The Changing Places Consortium is a group of organisations working to support the rights of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities to access their community. The Changing Places Consortium is campaigning for Changing Places toilets to be installed in big public places.

Disability Rights Commission

Uses legal enforcement to work towards eliminating discrimination against disabled people. Includes information on disability rights, campaigns and news.

Home Farm Trust

Long term support and care for people with learning disabilities, their carers and their families. The HFT offers a wide range of diverse services throughout the UK for over 1,000 people whether in supported living or registered care homes or via advocacy, supported employment and day services.

Foundation for Learning Disabilities

The Foundation for Learning Disabilities promotes the rights, quality of life and opportunities of people with learning disabilities and their families.

Learning Disabilities UK

Learning Disabilities UK website has sections dedicated to the 'Valuing People' White Paper and the latest from the Department of Health as well as vacancies and employment opportunities from a wide range of organisations around the country.

MENCAP

Mencap is a learning disability charity working with people with a learning disability and their families and carers. They fight for equal rights, campaign for greater opportunities and challenge attitudes and prejudice. They also provide advice and support to meet people's needs throughout their lives.

National Forum for People With Learning Disabilities

The Forum was set up after it helped to develop the White Paper: Valuing People.

The Forum works with the Learning Disability Task Forceand has the job of telling the Government how Valuing People is working for people with learning difficulties. The National Forum is made up of a group of about 25 people. They are representatives of all regions of England.

Office for Disability Issues (ODI)

The Office for Disability Issues aims to ensure that the views and wishes of disabled people are at the centre of policy-making, by reaching out to organisations and individuals at every step, and bringing external expertise and experience into the ODI itself.

The ODI aims to change the way government communicates with disabled people and organisations, embedding stakeholder engagement in its day-to-day work.

Office of the National Director for Learning Disabilities

The Office of the National Director: Learning Disabilities provides national leadership and expertise within learning disability policy. It provides policy guidance across health, social care and education issues.

Paradigm

Paradigm works predominantly in the UK, and increasingly in Europe and the USA, offering a full range of consultancy, training and development services to organisations interested in improving the opportunities available to people with learning disabilities.
