Progress and Priorities - working together for high quality sexual health

A review of the national strategy for sexual health and HIV.

This report, commissioned by the Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health and HIV, and written by the Medical Foundation for AIDS & Sexual Health (MedFASH), is a review of the national strategy for sexual health and HIV which was introduced in 2001.

Seven years after the introduction of the national strategy, the report outlines what has been achieved and addresses the key barriers which have impeded implementation. Most importantly, it recommends a wide range of actions required at national, regional and local level to respond to the new operating environment and drive further improvements.

This report has been published at a critical time just as Lord Darzi's report NHS Next Stage Review - High Quality Care for All has set six priority commissioning goals. Sexual health is one of the priorities.
