Our Care, Our Health, Our Say
The Our health, our care, our say White Paper sets out a vision to provide people with good quality social care and NHS services in the communities where they live.
NHS services are half way through a 10 year plan to become more responsive to patient needs and prevent ill health by the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Social care services are also changing to give service users more independence, choice and control.
The White Paper will change the way services are provided, placing greater choice and control in the hands of the people who use them.
The proposals in the White Paper aim to:
- Change the way these services are provided in communities and make them as flexible as possible
- Provide a more personal service that is tailored to the specific health or social care needs of individuals
- Give patients and service users more control over the treatment they receive
- Work with health and social care professionals and services to get the most appropriate treatment or care for their needs.
